What size is the Warren Hill linen play mat?
The Warren Hill quilted linen play mat is 115cm in diameter and round. It gives a baby room for tummy time and a crawling toddler room to move, and it sits in a nursery or living room without dominating the floor.
How thick is the linen play mat?
The mat is 880gsm in total: a 550gsm padded wadding quilted between two layers of 100% French flax linen. That is thick enough to cushion a baby's head during tummy time on floorboards or tiles, while still folding down to store.
What is the linen play mat made from?
100% French flax linen with a soft polyester fill. The flax is grown in France, then woven, cut, pre-washed and sewn by our socially-accredited manufacturing partners in China.
Is the play mat safe for a newborn?
Yes. The mat is certified to OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100, which means every component has been tested for harmful substances, and it is suitable from birth for supervised tummy time. As with any soft surface, babies should always sleep on a firm, flat sleep surface. A play mat is for play, not sleep.
Can you machine wash the linen play mat?
Yes. The whole mat goes in a domestic washing machine. Wash warm at 40 degrees with a mild detergent and line dry out of direct sunlight. There is no removable cover and no dry cleaning required. Washed French flax linen softens with each wash rather than pilling.
What age is the play mat suitable for?
From birth through the toddler years. Most families start with supervised tummy time in the first weeks, then keep using it through rolling, sitting, crawling and floor play.
What is the difference between the linen and cotton play mats?
The linen mat costs 164.95 AUD and is 100% French flax linen, which is more breathable, softens with each wash and has a textured natural finish. The quilted cotton mat costs 109.95 AUD and is smoother and more uniform in colour. Both are 115cm round, quilted, machine washable and OEKO-TEX certified.
